Scope of work

Around the house.

01

Faults & repairs

Lights flickering, sockets playing up or a circuit tripping? Tell us what you’ve noticed and which part of the house is affected.

02

Switchboards & new circuits

Upgrades for older boards, new appliances and additional circuits. We check the existing supply and layout before recommending the work.

03

Renovations & new builds

Power, lighting, data and appliance connections. See how we work with builders from the first drawing through to handover.

SmartVent / Home ventilation

Waking up to wet windows?

Tell us which rooms mist up, when it happens and where the bathroom and kitchen fans discharge. We’ll look at extraction and moisture sources before recommending a ventilation system. A leak needs its own repair.

In an existing home

A SmartVent positive-pressure system supplies filtered air and can suit an older, less airtight home. Where the supply is taken from the roof space, we’ll check that space and explain where the air comes from.

In a new build or tighter renovation

SmartVent Balance brings in filtered outdoor air and extracts stale indoor air, recovering some heat between the two air streams. While the ceiling is open, we can plan ducts, outside vents and access for changing filters.

Already have a SmartVent system?

A photo of the controller or a model number helps us identify the right filter and service interval. Tell us if the controls have changed, the system has become noisy or moisture has returned.

Inside a Dunedin home

Changing lights in a finished room?

You can get in touch with a photo taken from the floor. Tell us what you want changed and how high the ceiling is. That helps us plan access and talk through which fittings can use the existing positions.

Questions, answered

Questions about work at home

Can we stay in the house during a renovation?

Often, yes. Before work starts, we’ll agree access, which rooms are affected and when power needs to be off. Let us know if anyone relies on equipment that must stay on.

Do you handle outdoor lighting and power?

Yes. We look at the paths, steps, entrances and outdoor equipment you use. See outdoor lighting and power for the scope.

What photos help with a fault or upgrade?

A photo of the fitting and a wider view of the room are useful. For a switchboard, photograph the closed front only. Tell us what you noticed and when it started.

Household energy

Replacing an appliance or a vehicle?

Compare whole-household options or check the annual cost of one change against your own power rate.

Getting started

What needs attention at your place?

Start with your suburb, what you’ve noticed and when you need help. For planned work, a floor plan or a photo of the area is handy. Leave electrical covers in place.
